Communication with AIM

At least one director and other staff from AIM regularly attend sub-group meetings and join two-way discussions on how systems are being used, the problems being encountered, and future plans for software, support and service developments.

ACUA Annual Conference

The ACUA holds a highly effective two-day national conference of presentations, workshops, demonstrations, discussion sessions and social events. Attendees include senior and managing partners, partners, accounts managers and other staff from member firms. Attendance counts towards both the English and Scottish Law Society's continuing education requirements (CPD). The conference programme is designed to be both educational and enjoyable and includes authoritative speakers on a wide range of topical subjects.

Contingency plan

Ever wondered what would happen if your IT supplier went out of business? While this is unlikely in the case of AIM, it could have devastating effects for software users. The ACUA has an escrow agreement covering AIM software source code and a contingency plan for dealing with such an incident. The ACUA also maintains a contingency fund to help re-establish the support services members would require for a limited period.

Sub Group Meetings

ACUA runs five subject specific sub groups which meet three times a year. The discussions at the meetings are designed to be both practical and to benefit all users regardless of their experience with the software so that beginners can contribute as much as old hands. The meetings generally select a particular topic for discussion or training as well as dealing with users queries and difficulties.

On-line discussion

A closed forum within the members area of this website allows users to exchange ideas and share expertise electronically.

Recruitment agency

This is a free and informal service for matching vacancies at member firms with AIM-trained staff who are known to be moving to that part of the country and may seek new employment. It does not induce staff to move, but works only on information provided by member firms about vacancies or about staff who are on the move.
